Apitoxin

Apitoxin, a substance found in the venom of Apis mellifera honey bees, has a complex composition of peptides, enzymes, and other bioactive compounds. Among its main constituents is melittin, which has been the subject of extensive scientific research due to its biological properties.

PANABEES Tech dedicates one of its Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) areas to developing technologies for apitoxin extraction, focusing on controlled electrical stimulation equipment, extraction procedures, preservation, traceability, and quality control.

One of our main research objectives is to investigate the feasibility of producing honey and extracting apitoxin from the same colonies, assessing the potential impacts of venom collection on bee behavior, health, and productivity.

Our goal is to develop technological solutions and best management practices based on scientific knowledge and experimental validation, seeking to balance production efficiency, apitoxin quality, and colony welfare, while contributing to product diversification and added value for PANABEES products.
